I set off the the amazing technological feat of engineering that is the Falkirk Wheel this evening to get some images of it’s beautiful floddlit structure against what was promising to be a great sunset.
A 25 mile drive later I was in the car park getting my kit togteher. A passer by asked if was looking to photograph the wheel. “Yes” I said. “Oh, they’ve just locked the gates” she said.
Undeterred I took my gear and headed to cross the canal to the Wheel. Little did I know that locking the gate meant retreacting the bridge across the canal. I might have considered climbing a gate but swimming across the canal was a splash too far. So I had to settle for this shot of a couple of barges on the Canal.
